Top 5 Bookish Highlights of 2020

Looking back on 2020 there’s obviously been a lot more time indoors and a lot more time reading than I would have predicted in January, below are my top 5 book related things from across the year.

The Midnight Library ~ I adored Matt Haig’s latest fiction release, its currently on load to a friend but I’m already looking forward to re-reading it as soon as I get it back.

More Than a Woman ~ I listened to Caitlin Moran’s follow up to How to Build a Girl on audiobook and I’m so glad I picked that format and had it narrated by the author, this book broke my heart and put it back together multiple times. I’m not exaggerating, I cried multiple times but also had to stop mid-run because I was laughing too much.

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse ~ Essentially a picture book, this is such a heartwarming read that I’ve picked up several times this year.

One thing I only really started making use of in 2020 was audiobooks! Through both Audible and my local library services in Libby and BorrowBox I’ve generally had an audiobook on the go throughout the year, its really messed up my podcast backlog but its also been great to consume books in a new way and there are some books which I think actually lend themselves better to audio form.

I also want to give a shout out to my Reposed subscription, I got my first box in February and its really brightened up my year to have these boxes land on my doormat every month. I am a little behind in reading the books so I might pause my subscription once I’ve done 12 months while I catch up but I’d really recommend this as a gift or a treat to yourself. I’ve got unboxing posts up for everything I’ve had from them if you fancy looking at the the kind of books/items you receive.

What have been your highlights of 2020? Book related or just generally!
