Just to let everyone know about a mini readathon happening next weekend that I’m hoping to take part in.
Off The Grid-athon is a readathon hosted by Justine @ I Should Read That and Shana @ Bionic Book Worm. The readathon runs quarterly across a weekend and the main aim is to stay off your phone/social media and just take time to read, simple as that.
For October this is running 12:00am 16th October – 11:59pm 18th April which is perfect timing for me as we will hopefully be on a long weekend staycation, nothing too thrilling but I’m still very excited.
Something I’ve been trying to implement recently is being off social media after 8pm with varying degrees of success so this readathon is just enforcing that ‘good behaviour’. Somedays temptation gets the better of me, somedays I realise I’m on facebook without remembering opening the app (which is pretty scary). There’s been quite a lot of picking my phone up swipping through the screens of apps and putting it back down, there’s also been a lot more opening ‘non social media’ apps such as Fitbit which is really just pointless.
Are you taking part in Off the Grid-athon? Are you a self-confessed social media addict or do you limit your usage already?
