WWW Wednesday ~ 30th September 2020

The WWW tag runs weekly on Sam’s blog, each W stands for a different ‘What’ to summarise you’re last week in books.

WWW Wednesday

What are you currently reading?

Last week I was down to four concurrent books and I’m really pleased to say I’m now down to two!

I’m not counting Believe Me for my One at a time October challenge as this is an audiobook I’m listening to with my husband on long car journeys.

Which leaves my main book as The Guilty Feminist; this has been left on the back-burner for way too long and I’m actually looking forward to giving it my undivided book attention. I’m going to be digging out my book light for those mornings where I’m up earlier than my alarm and normally reach of my backlit Kindle.

What have you recently finished?

I’ve finished three books in the last few days, funnily enough when my pre-order of Emma Gannon’s new book Sabotage fell through my letterbox on Friday I really wanted to pick it up straight away, so I did. Its only just over 100 pages so it didn’t completely sabotage (*wink*) my reading plans and I really enjoyed it.

The Mothers has been a book I’ve got really mixed feelings about, when I made time for this book I couldn’t put it down and I want to re-read this at a time when I’m not also reading so many other things so on Sunday I got completely immersed and finished the last 100 pages

Finally, yesterday I finished off Just Between Friends*, coming out in November this follows Aisha and Lucy who meet a baby group for expectant mothers. They’re the only two people who turn up to the meeting alone and quickly become friends, what Aisha doesn’t know is that their meeting is less coincidental than she initially assumes.

What will you read next?

Next I’m planning to pick up Names for the Sea, this is one I’ve heard a lot about and have been saving for the cooler weather months
