Book Blogger Hop ~ 31st July 2020

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s prompt was submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews

If you haven’t read a book in awhile and someone asks about a character or the plot, can you recall the details?

This very much varies based on how much I’ve enjoyed the book, if I’ve given a book a four or five star rating then the chances are that if I’m asked about it a few months or years down the line then I’ll be able to remember a fair amount about it.

For three star books I’m less likely to remember many details beyond main character names, big plot points after a couple of months – for me that rating is pretty much ‘I enjoyed reading this but not very memorable’.

Oddly if something is a one or two star I’m probably more likely to remember things but for possibly not the reasons the author intended.

I’m always impressed by people who can read a lot of books and still remember the details of all most of them, what camp do you fall in?

  1. It’s 1 and 5 stars I remember, it’s the books that made me feel an emotion. I hadn’t realised that books I hated stick more than books I quite enjoyed until I read your response!
