The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s prompt was submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews
How do you keep track of books you will be reviewing or reading?
I do all my blog and just general life organising in Evernote and love it! Its browser based but there are apps you can use to access data offline, I use the free version which allows me to be logged into the app in two places which are my phone and my laptop. You can create different ‘notebooks’ so I have different ones for spitting out my blog, work, holidays etc.
I enjoy how easy it is and that everything syncs up so if I’m reading a book I know I’m going to review I can start a new note about that book that I jot things down in and because I have it on my phone its usually always with me.
For keeping track of things like ARCs I have a note for my Netgalley reads which is just a table where I fill in the title and release date when I get approved so I can try and make sure I’m not missing release dates.
The only downside is that its not as visual as other planning tools I’ve seen, for example with something like Trello you can drag tasks etc around whereas Evernote is mainly a collection of notes.
