Book, Tag

WWW Wednesday ~ 18th March 2020

The WWW tag runs weekly on Sam’s blog, each W stands for a different ‘What’ to summarise you’re last week in books.

WWW Wednesday

Like many others I am now working remotely, the upside being less time sitting in traffic and more time reading. The downside being its only day two and I’m already missing interacting with my colleagues, so I’m looking forward to reading lots of WWW posts today.

What are you currently reading?
After finishing two books this morning (thank you remote working) I’m currently only reading one book, Little Bandaged Days; let’s see how long that lasts!

What have you recently finished?
On Sunday I finished The Book Thief which I thoroughly enjoyed, I read the second half across one weekend and even though I’d seen the film it still got really emotional throughout the last 50 pages or so. This morning I also finished Underwater Breathing and the audiobook of An American Marriage

What will you read next?
My library reservation of The Starless Sea is finally ready for collection, however, its currently a little questionable if I’ll be able to collect it.  If not, I’ll pick up Nightingale Point which I got in my February reposed box.

If you fancy picking up any of these books with free worldwide shipping take a look at my affiliate link. You’ll pay the exact same price and I’ll receive a small commission in return.

  1. Only around 30 pages in at the moment and I’m finding the style and the way the characters are only referred to as initials a little strange but will read more later 🙂

  2. Oh, I loved The Book Thief as well. I never watched the movie though. I was not sure how they would portray the whole Death thing and then I kinda forgot. Did you like the movie?

    1. I really enjoyed the film and I went in it with no previous knowledge, its been a few years now so I didn’t remember all the details so if you’ve not read the book for a while I’d recommend giving it a go 🙂

  3. Oh, gosh, I’m probably about the last person, at this point, to have read The Book Thief. I should pick it up soon. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I hope you’re able to get The Starless Sea, but it wouldn’t surprise me if you’d have to wait. My library shut down, too, and holds are currently postponed. =/ I hope you enjoy all your reads, regardless.

    Here’s my WWW.

    1. I’ll completely understand if the libraries close, mine is still open but has removed all late fees; it’ll be a shame but I don’t mind waiting a bit longer. Hope you have a great reading week.
