Going back to Quarterly TBR’s for the start of 2020, I find these put a bit less pressure on than doing them monthly; I’ve been through my Goodreads TBR shelf and removed some books which I no longer feel excited about reading.
Winter ~ My aim is to get through the rest of Ali Smith’s seasonal quartet this year and read them around the time they’re set in so this is on my bookshelf just waiting to go.
The Book Thief ~ I’ve been meaning to read this for years, and with all new years come new intentions so I’m putting this one back towards the top of the list.
Legendary ~ Since I own the next two books in the Caraval series I figure I may as well carry on with the series, I’m probably going to need to find a way of refreshing my memory somewhat, ideally without re-reading the first book.
The Bookshop Book ~ I think this is the only one of Jen Campbell’s books I’ve not read, luckily my library has a copy which should be on its way soon.
Big Girl, Small Town* ~ This jumped out to me while scrolling through Netgalley; Majella lives in a small town in Northen Ireland and just wants to keep to herself but the loss of a loved one causes her to question her much loved routine.
The Comparison Cure ~ My Boxing Day present to myself, I love listening to Lucy Sheridan speak on podcasts or on Instagram; she’s the UK’s only comparison coach, helping people deal with the impact social media can have on our lives and the way we feel about ourselves.
My Dark Vanessa* ~ Just blurb of this made me feel uncomfortable, Vanessa is a fifteen year old who enters into a relationship with her English teacher, seventeen years later she’s forced to reassess their relationship and question all that she thought she understood about the love between them.
